Mr Tipply’s: A Gastropub ExperienceSydney Observer | March 23, 2015 | by Steph Nash
Where: Mr Tipply’s, 347 Kent St, Sydney. Vibe? 1940′s night club. Taste: Delicious. Written by Steph Nash and Sabrina Muysken.
Anthony Minghella’s 1999 film, The Talented Mr Ripley (1999), is a twisted story of love, lies, obsession and murder. The best part? The jaw-dropping beauty of the star-studded cast, featuring the baby-faces of Matt Damon, Jude Law and Gwyneth Paltrow.
Much like the film, Kent Street’s Mr Tipply’s is a beautiful mystery. Is it a bar? Is it a pub? Is it a restaurant?

| Who is Mr Tipply?Sydney Party People | Posted by Rebekah Scanlan | April 1, 2015 at 15:00
That’s a question I found myself wondering every time I walked past one of Sydney’s newest watering holes.
After endlessly gazing through the windows of this new two-storey drinking establishment in the CBD, I grabbed a friend (thanks Kirsty) and decided to head inside to find out.

| Mr Tipply's - CBD (Sydney)The AU Review | Apr 3, 2015
Like its top hat-sporting logo, Mr Tipply’s is a dapper place. From its minimal, modernised cigar lounge feel to its thoughtfully varied menu the new restaurant comes off surprisingly suave and very satisfying.
Perched above Kent St in the CBD, Tipply’s offers quality, affordable dishes with plenty of character and attention to detail. Like its slightly eccentric furnishings - the scuffed, mirror surface tables were fun, even when we were caught mid-reflection selfie by the waiter – the food offers an intriguing mix of styles and flavours.

| Mr Tipply’s is more than just another Sydney pubFrom The Table Top
As we enter into what appears to be just another pub, we are pleasantly surprised by the luxe interiors of the newly renovated Sydney pub, Mr Tipply’s. Chandeliers hang from the ceiling, there’s a grand piano playing in the corner, and fresh flowers sit upon every table. It’s an elegant setting and it almost feels like Mr Tipply himself has doffed his hat, given us a sly wink and told us that we’re in for a treat.
To start we share bamboo steamers filled with garlic tossed edamame, sichuan chicken popcorn and tempura shrimp with a chilli mayo. A great choice for nibbling on while we pursued the cocktail list and enjoyed a lychee mojito and whisky sour.

| Foodie 101** Mr Tipply’sSYDNEY SOCIAL 101 | Bobbie O'Sullivan | April 18, 2015
Sydney Social 101 was invited to visit Mr Tipply’s in Sydney’s CBD, and as I have a love of trying new things I was very excited.
The venues have an eclectic interior, created by Paddington –based designer Tamsin Johnson, emulates a globe-trotting experience traveling from the downstairs bar up to The Attic. Mr Tipply’s is a versatile spot where it can house up to 1,200 customers over the two levels. Incorporating intimate areas for dinning or drinks, the venue easily accommodates for smaller groups, making it a truly rare and prime find.

| Rugby Long Lunch We hosted our 1st ever Rugby Long Lunch on Thursday 13th August!
Our spcial guest, Former Australian Rugby Union player Phil Kearns, spoke about all things Bledisloe and Rugby World Cup at the Long Lunch. Phil represented Australia 67 times, captaining 10 of those occasions, and is recognised as a legend in the Australian Sporting Community.
The hearty 2 course menu designed by Executive Chef Ben Varela, commenced with a Chacuterie board of cured meats, pickled veg, cheeses & breads, and was followed by Cape Grim Sirloin with chimmichurri, duck fat potatoes, green beans & slow roasted carrots. The perfect mid-winter lunch, and was a major hit with everyone in the room!
We raised $2000 for the Humpty Dumpty Foundation through charity raffles and donations on the day!
